Join our 4-week Beginner Throwing Course and discover the art of making pottery on the wheel. With demonstrations, expert guidance from Jess and plenty of hands-on practice, you’ll learn the essential techniques to take you from a lump of clay to your own finished pots. Week 1 — Getting Started Prepare your clay and learn to throw cylinders, building confidence and control on the wheel. Week 2 — Exploring Form Develop your cylinders into bowls and, for those feeling adventurous, experiment with creating vase forms. Week 3 — Refining & Decorating Learn to trim and refine your pots, add handles and explore decoration using coloured slips. Week 4 — Glazing & Finishing Discover glazing techniques and add the finishing touches to your creations, ready for their final firing. You’ll take home six finished pieces to treasure, all made by you from start to finish. Whether you’re completely new to pottery or ready to try something different, this is a chance to get hands-on with clay, build new skills and discover the joy of throwing.
